Pierre’s qualifications include being reared on his Basque immigrant father’s dairy in Chino, California, a B.S. in Dairy Science from Cal Poly plus an MBA from Arizona. Following work experience with the Holstein Association exporting cattle, creamery fieldman and international corporate work, Pierre partnered with two fellow Cal Poly graduates to start Agpro in 1991. He is now sole proprietor with dairy clients in multiple states and a concentration in California’s central valley.

AgPro Staff

Led by our long time office manager, Cindy Hielscher, the staff features two industry certified insurance service representatives (CISR) with many years of dairy industry insurance experience. This experience extends to out of state operations, calf and heifer ranches and trucking. Joe Navarette, our Employer Services Department Manager is certified by AgSafe, a nationwide non-profit dedicated to the safety of employees within the ag industry.

Crop Specialist

Jeff Giffin, a Fresno State graduate, specializes in providing and servicing crop insurance for farmers. Jeff’s multi-year experience includes insuring, often with government subsidies, such crops as tree nuts, fruit trees and a wide range of field and forage crops.

Employer Compliance Department

AgSafe certified and Spanish speaking fieldmen implement employer compliance services. This in-house service has many years of experience documenting on-site clients’ employee training on OSHA, labor board, EPA and other employer requirements.

Employer Compliance Services

Outsource your OSHA, state and federal employer compliance requirements. Our OSHA Package includes documented employee meetings, employee handbooks, time clocks, AgSafe Certified fieldmen fluent in Spanish and English.

CAL/OSHA Service Package $2,750

Employers are required by law to establish, implement and maintain an effective OSHA Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).

This includes bulletin board, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) manual including the new zoonotic diseases prevention requirements, an annual 82 item written hazard inspection report and required government postings. 

Site Visits include two documented employee safety meetings and two hazard inspections. Each additional site visit is $175.

Time Clock Package $895

Agricultural employers are required to maintain time records showing the beginning and end of each employees’s work period. 

In addition to the basic time clock package, we offer the following maintenance and service plans:

• Annual maintenance plan includes timecards, ribbons and on-going training ($375)

Replacement plan (applies to normal wear and tear only)($475)

Forklift Certification $495

OSHA requires that non-agricultural operators must be trained and certified as competent to operate forklifts. Course completion includes successfully passing both written and driving tests. Certificates are valid for three years.

EPA “Blue Card” Certification $395

The EPA requires that all employees be trained on the hazards of working with pesticides. Dairy sanitizers such as chlorine and iodine are considered pesticides. Certified AgPro fieldmen issue  EPA “blue cards” to each employee that completes this training. 

Citation Assistance

At no additional charge clients receive management level assistance and guidance with any OSHA or Labor Board (DIR) audits or citations. 

Pesticide Applicator Certification $475

Employers are required to have a written protection plan, training, and personal protection equipment (PPE) for pesticide applicators. PPE includes overalls, over boots, goggles, gloves and respirator. 

Harassment Training $495

California Law AB1825 requires employers of 50 or more employees to provide two hours of interactive training to supervisors. “Interactive” means video alone is not sufficient without discussion led by a qualified trainer. Training includes law review and strategies to prevent and correct harassment.

Employee Handbook $975

Spanish-English language handbook that is an up-to-date compilation of both mandated and non-mandated items and policies fieldmen communicate to and document with employees.
